The beach of Alcudia is one of four beaches in the Bay of Pollensa in northern Mallorca, near the Sa Marina Playa, Playa de San Joan, Playa de Sant Pere, with the residential area of Playa Mal Pas and Bonaire. One of the most interesting places near the beach of Alcudia is the wetland Albufereta and Albufera de Mallorca, with its stagnant waters surrounded by reed - formerly rice plantations. Here lives an important local wildlife of the island. You can walk right in front of Playa d'Alcudia birds and watching fish species that live in both marine ecosystems and in the lagoons. Many species of migratory and sedentary birds such as the osprey use the lagoon of Alcudia as a strategic point of rest or as a stopover at the change of seasons. Also, there are several species of mammals like hedgehogs and weasels; Amphibians such as the water snake, frogs and fish such as mullet and eel. Near the beach there are good hotels, shops and restaurants.
